The beginnings of a new year...

Laurel is down for her late afternoon nap and so I have time to finally post some pictures from 2009! As you can see from the picture below we finally have gotten a little bit of snow in Knoxville! It was so beautiful to watch the snow coming down all day while we were snuggled up inside by a warm fire. Of course, Laurel is too young to really care, but give her another year or two and I'm sure she will be right out there in it. Will and I were hoping that the law office would be closed, but welcome to the real (adult) world...only schools close for snow, not businesses!
Oh well :-)
Here is Laurel enjoying our most recent purchase for her...a highchair! We are preparing to start her on solids (rice cereal!) when she hits 6 months. It is such a big step from little, tiny baby to older baby, but I don't really feel too sad. I am excited about all the new things Laurel is doing and I am enjoying looking ahead to all the adventures that await us in the future. We put her in her highchair while we eat our dinner and she loves to be up with us playing with her toys.

Family picture taken too early one morning before any of us had the benefit of getting ready for the day!!
Hehe...this makes me laugh! I was taking Laurel's 5 month picture, but as a 5 month old should, she was having a much better time rolling around in the blanket than in posing!
This is one of Laurel's funny expressions captured on film! She has a very expressive and mobile face!
I'm afraid we have been seeing more of this little face! Sinful attitudes are certainly coming out such as screaming when we take away something she was enjoying. I am grateful we are not at the discipline stage yet! For now we are firmly saying "no" and not giving in to her demands.
Which as you can see can be rather hard to do considering this little face...
In this picture Laurel is doing a "baby push-up". She rolls around a lot these days as well as pushes herself up on her hands and sometimes on her knees. She is practicing sitting up, but she hasn't really gotten the hang of it yet.
These are some pictures from my 23rd birthday on January 1. I'm not sure what Will is doing in this one!
It was my first birthday not having my family with me! That was hard for me, but the Kittrell family and my little family (Will and Laurel) spoiled me rotten and I had a wonderful, blessed day.
